Kasuri (絣) is the Japanese term for fabric that has been woven with fibers dyed specifically to create patterns and images in the fabric. Each cushion cover has a mixture of up-cycled materials including vintage Japanese textiles. the embroidered fabric patches are inspired by the traditional Japanese technique of Boro. The cushion covers are sustainably focused by incorporating fabric waste and antique fabric remnants. Each cushion is unique and hand made in my studio in Edinburgh. The cushion cover is sold as a single item and will fit a standard 50x50cm cushion (cushion not included).
Due to the nature of using up-cycled vintage materials I cannot guarantee or predict how these materials will react during washing. I would recommend hand washing the product to reduce the risk of excess dye discolouring the rest of the item. Please contact me if you have any concerns or queries regarding the maintenance of the product.
